RexCorp Honors Members of New Jersey’s Real Estate Community at Annual Awards Gala

RexCorp Realty LLC (“RexCorp”) recently held its annual holiday gala at One Giralda Farms in Madison, N.J. This event, widely attended by New Jersey’s top real estate executives, is traditionally recognized as one of the largest and most highly anticipated annual industry gatherings in the region.
At the gala, RexCorp presented two “Broker of the Year” Awards. These awards are given to those brokers in acknowledgement of their success and achievements in a highly creative or sizeable transaction at a RexCorp property, which has had a notable impact on the market. In addition to the award, the Brokers of the Year receive a $5,000 donation from RexCorp to the Morristown Memorial Cancer Center. Douglas A. Gaffney (pictured), Senior Managing Director, The Schultz Organization received the award in the office category in recognition of the 41,384-square-foot lease for Schwartz, Simon, Edelstein Celso and Kessler at 44 Whippany Road in Morristown, N.J. Lighthouse Development Group Presents Its Designs for the “New Suburbia”

The Lighthouse Development Group, a joint venture of RexCorp Realty and Charles Wang, filed its plan for the 55 million-square-foot development district with the Town of Hempstead. The plan will transform the Coliseum and its surrounding 150-acres of county-owned land into a state-of-the-art venue which will serve as an economic and socioeconomic engine, bringing new jobs and tax revenues, higher property values and a focal point to the Island. RexCorp CEO Scott Rechler and Wang will incorporate green building and smart growth development principles – some of which include bicycle and jogging trails that connect Hofstra University, Nassau Community College and Museum Row. The company reports that leases and renewals for this period exceeded 136,000 square feet of Class A office space throughout the northern New Jersey market.

Construction at RexCorp’s Catskills Concord Development Slated To Begin

RexCorp’s joint venture with Westchester developer Louis Cappelli owns the former Concord and Grossinger’s hotels in Kiamesha Lake and Monticello, respectively. Construction on the Concord site, which includes two golf courses, 3,000 homes and a luxury hotel-spa, will begin soon.
The Comprehensive Development Plan consists of:
- A 1,500 room hotel, resort and casino/convention center
- 3,000 + residential units
- A 200-room, five-star spa hotel
- A 300-room five-star lodge/hotel
- 600,000 square feet destination and big box retail
- Two 18-hole championship golf courses
- 60,000 square foot golf course clubhouse
Plans for the Grossingers portion of the development project are currently under development.
