Last year Reckson Associates Realty Corp. purchased the 1.1 million square
foot landmark Uniondale office towers, currently undergoing a multi-million
dollar repositioning, where the lighting of the largest Christmas tree on Long
Island is celebrated, and immediately announced they would continue the tradition
in cooperation with their joint sponsor, Citibank.
"Together with Citibank, we've assembled an exciting, world-class lineup
of holiday entertainment performing at Reckson Plaza for Long Island families
to enjoy," states Scott Rechler, Reckson CEO. "We are proud to present
this special annual tree lighting event, kicking off the holidays for the Long
Island community. We like to think of this event as a holiday gift to the people
of Long Island."
In keeping with the spirit of giving throughout the holiday season, Reckson
will again sponsor and support the US Marines' "Toys for Tots" campaign
and the locally-based Island Harvest, which collects and distributes food to
Long Islanders in need.
